Hi Ruffair
With out MT...
* "...I would simply be losing HP..." = I get 2.7K RPM, which is the only way to GET 180HP from my engine

With out MT, I would simply be losing HP, destroying CG (amphibian, skis), and buying lots of fine tooth files.

Do not paint them! Keep 10lbs off the airplane.
From Ala Wai Harbor...
The weekend was epic in country and town! No wind until the trades started this morning. Surfed South shore, it was great!
Forecast is looking good too:

Definitely an overhead day for those dudes. Hum? Aviation, boating and surfing, a primal connection has been proved?
Cool video!
Cool! We should clone you! I bet you will hand splice to save the cost of a Nicro sleeve. Definitely a reality check for aviation!
If the airplane has been sitting, I like to make sure the blades turn freely with a low amount of oil pressure. Several light RPM drops doesn't hurt on the first flight in cold weather. Sticky...
I agree but, do not think it would adversely effect the propeller. But, I listen to all sides. The engine gets a fast rise in MP and rapid deceleration too. Maybe not great in freezing cold temps....
With the hours I fly, I'll never get to zero TBO. Not by choice.
I get about (300) RPM drop, not a FULL max pitch cycle! Then check to see if its on speed again, really gentle! I try not to yank the prop back as some of the mechanics I have seen in part 135's.
...
I cycle five times when the engine oil is warming up on the first flight of the day. But, don't log it!
I misunderstood! Not too uncommon.
Just a thought... 3M 5200 ( really expensive, unless purchased wholesale ) is tough. Used some this week to seal a vent on a boat and was reminded how strong it is. Cutting it with a sharp knife is...
Log TT time on certified C/S props, it is the law. With simple math you could estimate number of complete 360 degree cycles. Not something I am interested in.
Every mountain range has its own personality. Where would you like to fly?
Does Vy = Vx = Vs = absolute ceiling? Lower altitudes increases the Delta, higher decreases the Delta ( until = )
Just a thought for next trip to FL 30 in a Cub.

Ahhh. Spring time in Alaska. Such fun.8)
My opinion...
A stalled tire = SUCTION INTO THE WATER! An inverted hydrodynamic foil!
Water feels like cement when your doing 60kts! Let the tire find equalibrium by freewheeling!
My head is large figuratively, not so much literally! BTW your wife is nice looking!
My oh my, your head is large!
That makes sense. Because if, mag shield ever touched mag GND, no spark.

The mag makes RF which should be grounded to airframe via shielding. Reduces noise in avionics etc.
Must of been freezing cold up there in a Cub cabin. Burr...
