bill, you used to be able to drive a motorhome to alaska for the manufacturers for free. You camp in it on the way and drop it off at a dealer in Alaska. Seems like they even paid you so much per...

sorry, I meant Steve, not Stever.
Amen, Stever. That is exactely what I do, except with Superflite over the white.

Mike,
Just found out they do sell individual parts. My catalog is old and apparently not correct.
I just finished my PA-17 gear with the gussets and its perfect. Toughest glue on the market for fabric. You must be doing something wrong. Make sure it thoroughly dries before you put fabric over...
Anyone know where I can get one brass barrel for a piper tail wire. Its the part that is internally threaded for the rod that fits inside the clevis. All I need is one and Univair and Wag only sell...
Hey Pokette, Have you read Wager with the Wind? Nice read.

How many and what size bungees on a stock pa-12? three per side or two?
Dave,
How do you paint one side of something and not get lots of overspray on it when doing the other side. I saw them do that on the Superflite video and still haven't figured that out.
I had a friend who passed on recenly who built one in the 80's for airshow work. Claimed it really performed well with outstanding roll rate. I believe he had a 360 in it. Probably a clipped cub...
Thanks for the reply.
I ordered a new one. When I got the bolts out, the holes were worn oblong, so that made the decision. The sleeve is not tight, it rotates freely as it should. That was not my concern.
Anyone know exactely how much play is allowed in the bolts holding the sleeve to the yoke on the trim system. 43.13 talks about trim tab play on trailing edge but neccessarily about yoke and other...
I looked that up on the type certificates a while back. by memory, its about 245 dry weight for the O-235 and 180 for the O-200. Some variants are slightly different but that is about a general...
I use 3003-H32 and 5052 with very food results. Don't use dead soft as your parts will be too soft when your done. The half hard aluminum works well and can be welded( at least these two can).

Caption America.
As I understand it, you can make it experimental thru your local FSDO and then its able to go anywhere you want. Of course you will need an adequate reason. If it were...
Nice pa-11. Just what I am looking for. Anyone know where there is
a PA-11 project?

Ron,
I have formed quite a few shapes like you are talking about. 3003-H14 or 5052-H32 work very well. Stay away from 2024-T3 as its too hard and will crack right when you don't need it to. ...
Ken,
Just how is the performance? cruise, stall speed, etc.

I agree with Steve and others. Doing annuals on first (to me) aircraft takes quite awhile just on the paperwork and finding out about the aircraft. The owners think too much time is spent on...
Like to find someone who has done just that. Any names? No fowler flaps though. Too heavy.
Dad was a crop duster back in southern indiana. Back then they used Champs with 0-320's and a barrel welded in the back seat. From my first ride in a Champ and Tripacer, its been in my blood ever...
Yea, I was thinking something like a clipped cub but with more mods to clean it up and more room in the front cockpit. thinking more like using 23012 airfoil for more speed and a clipper gear since...
anybody here ever thought of building a cub with say Clipper wings (beefed up with more ribs) and taller gear and pressure cowl? Not for backcountry use per say, but just a fun all around aiplane. ...
J3HeavyJr,
Its probably too late for you, but i just saw your post looking for an AP/IA in the stl area. I do many annuals and quite a few on cubs, bipes, etc. I have a J-3 in the hangar now...
