That all does not make sense to me. We go to great lengths to get air out of that area! Maybe it works as some sort of venturi?

Man that plate is a pain. I finally worked out how to work around the filter. I have a sutton exhaust and to get the lower cowl over the exhaust and threaded onto the filter spigot was imposible. So...
Do you mean the vertival plate behind the filter? Wouldn't that pressurise the low pressure side? Or is there a horizontal plate around the carburettor that I don't know about?
New Zealanders! You just have to love em eh!
Peter,
Stall reduced from 31 knots to 26 knots with full flap. But remembering the AOA on the pitot was pretty high. I like your idea of trying the VG's on the upper surface to help the tail up....
I have a friend who is considering building from scratch. What web sites would you recommend to him?
My experience was that (on wheels) without VG's I could only just stall the plane without power. Added VG's to the wing and the stall speed was lowered and found I did not have enough elevator...
Peter,
What do you think the effect of VG's would have had on your results?

Peter,
For this spin phobic flyer, Is all that good or bad? And why?

Can someone please interpret this for me.
Lasater,
You have gone too far in your thinking not to do it. Your a man of my own heart. I am now looking for excuses not to join you.

ps : when I was researching this I was told...
Does it work OK in that position or does it get interfered with with the tubing nearby?
Pittsdriver,
What is that compass you have??
Colin
Laseter,
Just come out to Australia and buy mine and start from here. I built my back country to fly around the 5 great southern capes.

Peter,
I did ring brad at Pmag and discussed that but 2 pulses is the best we can get. It would be interesting if I had two e mags that I could take pulses from both. 2 + 2 = 4 . Bingo!
Crash...
That all sounds like good advice. But what would I get off the P lead? I thought I had heard somewhere that you could get a signal from there. Maybe I dreamt it. Maybe it would be 2 pulses as well?
I purchased a 10-01076 ISS ELECTRIC TACH GA 3500 from spruce to replace a dodgy one (another make) I had which was picking up its signal from my e-mag tach out put (apparently 2 pulses per...
I did some testing when I first flew my plane. Before I installed the VG's under the tail they definately helped. I found that after I installed the VG's under the stabiliser they had only marginal...

What would likely happen if you hit a duck with a metal prop. Ok, I reckon I can work out what would happen to the duck but what about the prop, etc?

What do you mean by shaved when talking about the Gar aeros?
I have just been reading helmetfires engine woes and noted skywagons comment on what might get sucked through the carbie.
I have just modified my round filter air box. I have a Sutton type exhaust...
What can I clean up high temp silicon with? It has cured. There must be something that dissolves it that won't damage paint?
