I have only released cremains once. We placed the remains in a tube and added 5 pounds of wild flower seed. Only works if you release over some spot the flowers can grow, of course.
Where can we make comments on that proposal? I have never had any issues flying that corridor in 20+ years of flying even on "those days" when the winds come rolling over Hiland.
The weather was bad that day. I didn't want to hit the power lines, so I flew extra low. I don't remember the tires actually touching the ground though... Birchwood pilots - please note the...
I didn't get to fly today because........my annual has expired. :-(
I have to believe that buying a plane and THEN getting engaged has to be way easier than the way I did it.
I had a similar experience several years ago. Changes to normal procedures. One was odd, when I pulled carb heat, I would gain a couple hundred RPM. I taxied off the runway and poked around. I...
Congrats! Nice way to start the new year.
What material do each of you have for covering? Leather? Fabric?
For those not on fb, I borrowed this post that went up yesterday:
"UPDATE FROM BEN CRUZ: Today I was able to tour and meet everyone at the Rescue Coordination Center at Elmendorf Air Force Base. I...
We're all waiting for good news. They have "reliable" information that Brendan was north of Knik-Goose Bay trying to go around the north side of the storm, so they are searching heavily there. There...
The plane is out of the shop, so I was able to do some searching today. I searched the lower slopes east of the Palmer airport. Then proceeded west toward Big Lake until out of fuel. Nothing more to...
Bob Turner is on the right track. Newton's second Law: F=ma. A body's acceleration (or decleration) is proportional to the force acting on it. In your case, the "force" or "braking action" in a first...
I just purchased two of the ABW bags today. I'm saving my lunch money again and figure by Christmas I should have enough money for fuel to go flying. ;-)
For clarification, does, "getting off the rudder" mean you actually take your toes off the rudder pedals and put them on the brake pedals?
I have always rotated my foot and pressed full rudder,...
Why didn't you just put the screw in?
1 - "NOT until I see your airplane!"
2 - "Let's get 'er fueled up and I'll try it again now that I have the VG kit installed."
3 - "Point-n-S**T": the latest development in personal comfort at...
I think you have a pretty steep approach from anything but the highway side. To answer your question, "Nope, never landed there." Be careful, young boys with canoes on the lake at times.

Diggin' up bones.

Regarding the fly-by, you were already on your way when I got the message about your departure time. You were headed north, I was headed west to the Yentna. I guess you'll just have to come back soon...
Thanks Henny. Guess I'll load my fly rod in and head west this weekend.

I have found that closing my eyes on short final helps me mentally block the sounds of the passenger's scream too.
