Note that some AD's do not allow Ferry Permit.
I know the thread is somewhat stale but I thought I would comment.
An earlier post refers to O-200 guide wear.
Looked @ one yesterday & Rockers do not line up well with the valves.
Seen this...
First thing to look @ is the Cam.
If bad; things go downhill real quick.
Your figures should work.
Varies with location.
Might be high?
"Early" pushrods had no p/n's but used grooves.
My belief ( & "others" ) is More Grooves = More LENGTH.
Also 290D2 & 320's share same p-rods.
Lycoming Factory in in the dark on...
I've used Rejuvenator a few times & believe you will have to sand.
LESS Clearance is caused when the Valve Face & Seat are ground
w/o doing the Rocker Arms.
Typically this is found AFTER the cylinder is installed.
If they are the "Standard" (shortest )...
You did not mention the when the last Annual was.
If Ceconite is taken care of it WILL last a LONG time.
One concern I would have is the rib stitching.
In that period you often found the...
They just might be listed in the Oversize Parts Section.
I'll have to check.
I believe El Reno is no longer in business.
Pushrods generally come in 3 lengths.
They are identified by rings or p/n.
Do you know what you have?
Is this a cylinder change in progress?

Type mags? Last time removed for service?
A defective Coil will provide a weak spark when hot.
You may want to consider 2 Impulse coupled mags
or "SlickStart".
I have the link & it's broken.
Out of service a few years now.
It was someone that could provide copies of previously
approved 337's for a fee.
The "DAMI" ( Designated Aircraft Maintenance Inspector) preceded the IA system.
I understand there were limits on the number.
Pre 1969 though.
I've seen reading IMPROVE after a FLIGHT.
Don't recall readings that were better cold then hot.
Seen a few unusual ones after brief ground runs.
Bottom line if it's good cold it should be...
It may not be lazy or incompetent IA's but folks that want something for nothing.
If you read the SB/AD you will note that the system must be disassembled, cleaned & inspected , assembled &...
A new AD has been issued on Piper Cherokee cables & related hardware.
It seems that the concern is with galvanized cable & turnbuckles.
Could the same items be in other Pipers?
Not at the prices that are quoted.
A USED 18 gal tank for a Colt was quoted @ $1200 by Univair.
Plus shipping of course!
Same jug goes on a O-200.
Quite similar to the O-470 & up system.
Seems to work well.
Install is a little more difficult though.
If nothing else a cheap 10X Loupe will allow a better examination.
If the "crack" extends into the combustion chamber you may also see some deposits in the area.
If really cracked; the answer...
Check Six
Note this is not 1 ring but it is 1 ring in EACH Blister Pack. Total 4.
My opinion is Cast Iron doesn't stretch much but will break.
This is the way it is made.
Any chance you could give us a measurement of the UNCOMPRESSED ring gaps?
Ref. "Piston Ring differences" in Sick Bay.
Thanks
No one else ever install these?
I would think there should be some type of spec on the "Static Gap"
.
( Not in cylinder)
The ring is NOT a bigger diameter; just has the gap open way too much.
My thought is it IS actually the correct Lycoming ring.
However; somewhere in the manufacturing process the " Static Ring...
There were 3 Oil Pump Ad's. 75-08-09 , 81-18-04 & 96-09-10.
These were the superceding order in MOST cases.
The AD 's do NOT apply to the ORIGINAL style Oil Pump.
It CAN be inspected for...
Do you lube the rear Stabilizer Carry-through?
It pivots at this point & there should be an oil hole or zerk fitting there.
If it is an oil hole I suggest you start with a penetrating oil first.
