My Pstol flaps say use the same figures that are in the super cub book for a normally flapped super cub according to AA. I haven't flown a lot of planes but the ones I have flown, other than the SC, say best angle is with partial flaps. SC says full flaps which is good from a landing standpoint...
So if I really need to climb at best angle, to avoid colliding with some trees, the book says climb at 45 indicated with full flaps as I remember. I have the Pstol flaps. The airspeed indicator isn't really your airspeed for various reasons but maybe the 45 mph took that into consideration...

So BC12D, is the pitch, IE 43, that Sensenich refers to the same pitch that a Borer referred to when quoting their pitches? Like I had a Borer 82/44 so would an adjustable Sensenich prop at 45 be a smidgen more bite than the Borer 44? Or is it a totally different scale, but like numbers, that...
Steve,
I use two dowel pins at the same time (I ordered double when i bot the prop). I do know that one of them is way harder to remove from the hole. Next time I'll just use one and get the same "feel", you speak of for both and then check with the digital level. Just wanna do it right. Also...
I have been running a pitch of 6 on my 0360. What are others running? Shouldn't we be a little flatter, like a 5 or so for my application, in the winter because of the more dense air? My field is 2400 here.
I have a Sensenich adj. prop and I need something, inexpensive hopefully, that will measure the degrees the aluminum template I put on each side of the prop, to then put something on, that will tell me the degrees, to a half of a degree, that this aluminum template is at so I can compare the...
I can put the AA gas bags in my Edos or once I put 18 1 gallon milk jugs in each float. Think 72 gallons of gas total! I also would sell my, just painted gray, EDO 2000s as I haven't been on floats in 12 years!
I don't understand skywagons questions of 2"? I am using the 2.25" of the wheels aft of the wle per Piper's drawing. But, I am NOT using the 186" aft of the wheels as an arm which is at the rudder vertical post, but rather the axle of the bushwheel, which is an additional 16" aft of the rudder...
I think maybe there was fuel trapped in the tanks. Why not weigh it with full tanks and then subtract 216 lbs? I think I will hook up with Chuck and reweigh again maybe with the two sets of scales. Chuck is as much of a "super cub ", to the bone guy, as I have dealt with.
Yes, something not right especially in light of the fact that I took off about a 33 lb prop and put on a Sensenich adjustable which is about a 21 lb prop. But I am learning. I just learned today that when you have the tail scales with the bush wheel sitting on them you need to add about 16'' to...
