East to West coast float trip looking for suggestions

wisconsin to vt to new york then to calif trip planned in a 90 hp j3 with 30 gallons and straight floats. anyone out there done any of these legs? especially looking for info from montana westward. fuel, routes ect.. thanks all. my name is pete,friends of clyde and susie.
