StewartB suggested I start a blog on my Carbon Cub kit. I've never blogged before, don't do Facebook or any other social networking sites so this is new to me. I'll quit here and see if this actually works.
I finished the right wing last week with the spraying of the trim over the white base: I installed the VG's and sprayed them right along with the leading edge trim. After weighing the pros and cons for each type of top coat I ended up using Poly Tone for the white and Aerothane for the trim colors. Poly Tone is lighter than the polyurathanes and easier to repair. But I'll spray the cowl ...
My right wing is changing colors every few days now; from white to orange and now to silver. That first coat of silver is the most revealing. The tapes and gussetts under the strut/fixture attach points were Poly Brushed in place while still on the horses. All other taping will be done ...

Both wings are now assembled and ready to cover. The fuselage was already awaiting so I'll soon be putting the fabric and Poly Tac to work. Two assembled wings. My son and I set up my home-shop paint booth last evening too so I'm ready to start spraying Poly Brush. My Excel build sheet shows 282 hours up to this point. I probably have 40-50 hours in the modifications ...
