Be sure to use a closed end loop unlike the typical hardware store variety which is only a bent ring which can open under high loads.

mike, I wasn't considering PMAd or not, only addressing the original question. I don't know what Cessna used, it may have been a standard hardware part. If it was obviously a non aircraft part on a certified airplane and some hard nosed FAA type was looking at the airplane for some reason noticed it, he just may want to look a little deeper.
