Knowing I really don't have the time right now to tackle building a cub on my own, curious if there are some pro's out there that would take on the project??

Yes. Kind of like " my engine is making a noise, what do you think it is"?

My engine makes noise all the time. It begins when I push the starter button and doesn't stop until I pull the mixture. What do you suppose it might be?

Likely IC issues

or my original concern,

I really don't see a need to make this a conspiracy thread, and based on his background, I don't think the poster is doing anything more than asking a question.

You guys may need to switch to decaf!

Didn't really follow the conspiracy theory myself. You can rebuild a Super Cub and can also build an experimental as long as it is experimental exhibition like most aerobatic airplanes.

You mean, a professional builder could actually build a "cheap" cub??
where do I sign up?

Thats one of the beauties of the SuperCub

you can build a conservative, simple, efficient, and lightweight performer as the designers intended; or you can pay for a complicated, overweight, and frilly cub that still flies but doesnt get the job done as elegantly as the basic legacy plane.

But that is a simple way of looking at it and there are many difficult questions to answer along the way if the legacy is not kept in mind

Sure there is, people do it all the time.
You can build an experimental Cub for someone else, or build one & sell it. No problem.
The problem would be if the customer / buyer tried to get the repairman's certificate by claiming he built it himself.
Unfortunately this does happen.

I'm looking for someone in the Northern VA area to help me build a Super Cub (not experimental).... Looking for a good project plane!

Or perhaps a referral of someone who could help that is on the East Coast?

I've got a project I'd sell you but can't help with a builder on the east coast. PM me if you want to talk

Oh.. but we can professionally build in Canada... I helped write the Transport Canada document myself!!

"Owner" only needs "care and control", which equals caring to write the cheques and enough control that he can get himself through the 2 to 3 inspections during the building process to the satisfaction of MDRA.

I'm still quite confused by this thread...

the original poster asked a question without providing enough info for us to attempt to help answer it for them... and still they haven't replied to the more info requests....

whats the deal??? strange....
