J-5A converted to J-5C

I saw a J-5A for sale as being converted to a J-5C. Looking at the TCDS it doesn't appear that the "A" was approved for floats. Does the engine, cowl and landing gear upgrade actually make this a "C" or is it still an "A"?

Years ago , I used to have an A model that was turned into a C model.
HOWEVER, the FAA would not let me increase the legal gross weight because it was born as a A model and not a C.

Just give it a little time. Today you can be born a g change to a b and join the the boy scouts.
