Haha, so we are fixin to turn this cub into our ranchin dream machine ;)

Today got the tires on:

Backstory is that my pops decided to learn to fly at 58 years young n I convinced him a super cub was the way to go...honestly it was all part if my evil plan to have a tricked out cub to fly!!! I learned in a super cub n finished up the ticket n my 180, never forgot how awesome that cub was!!! Now the dream has become reality and can't say I've ever had more fun flyin than the last few months tearin ass around in the cub. I love my 180 but boy when it comes to workin around the ranch and just runnin the canyons n cricks, dang the cub is too good. Even the cross country hours fly by like nothin...u know ur sick n twisted when u fly 4 hours from A to B in a cub then gas up and keep runnin till dark just cause u cant get enough!

We got a Lycon 160 sittin in the hangar waitin to head up to Steve Pierce to get hung in January. Also, gonna go with the thrust line, lightweight alt, starter, n oil cooler, new mount, Sutton exhaust if that'll work with stock air filter n front oil cooler, airforms bafflin, borer 82X44 for high desert, VG's but that's a secret as it's my Christmas present to dad, n what am I forgettin...

The cub is a 1950 PA-18-135 with the 0-290-D2 currently. Fuselage is Univaire, Dodge 3" ext gear, wings n struts new except for Piper ribs (13 rib), ext baggage, metal interior, 1750 GW, inverted dog leg, cross brace etc. re-build was finished in 2012 we picked it up with 6 hours since rebuild this last July in CO.

To say the least we are havin fun!!!

There is a good story to the name Stampede, but some other time...

Hey. that looks like a GREAT spot? Deep enough to jump off the top?? Probably nice and warm there too? Any fish in there?

...pictures of the c180?

That will be a firebreather. Congrats. You'll have fun. She looks good with big tires.

Dave, that spot is a decent fishin hole and holds catfish n largemouth bass. The landing area is usually underwater and is only exposed right now due to drought. Great camping spot for sure, however the top of waterfall and anything above high water line is private property, so no jumping off the top without beein a trespasser ;) Also someone keeps putting logs and other serious hazards in the landing area, extreme caution is required! Here are some pics of my 180 u asked for:

Thanks Raised By Wolves.

Built a new ranch runway for the cub, 4800' elev and maybe 400' long or so. Cant wait to get the new motor n prop on, kinda tight for this gutless little 0-290.
