Can anyone tell me how much weight is on the tail wheel under the following conditions : Experimental Super Cub, at 2000# gross weight, three point attitude, main gear 3" extension but NOT 3" forward. Here's the deal.....I have my fuselage almost completely welded but want to check the tail wheel geometry (kingpin angle) at gross weight before I proceed. I can correct any problem now easier than later. I'm using a Bearhawk Patrol "stinger" type tail spring and a Bearhawk tail wheel, so re-arching tail springs is not an option. I plan to mount my almost completed fuselage on the almost completed main gear and tail wheel. I'll load the tail to simulate gross weight and measure the kingpin angle. I'll be happy with bottom of kingpin forward thru vertical (I think) because less weight or bigger main tires will rotate the bottom of the kingpin forward. Thanks in advance for info.
