I was called by a friend who saw an airplane motor and thought it was an o200 but its not...not sure if it is a 65 or 75hp but the story is that it ran well. Experimental plane no books or times..numbers on the data tag are not easily read. carb was ripped off and smashed into oil tank at some time...

I was thinking of building the motor and sticking it in the corner as a backup

so what would be a reasonable offer for it and what would a rebuilt 65-75 be worth

A65 and A75 are great little engines, BUT if you going to put money into a little Continental it cost the same to build a C85. 90 or 0200 and they will be worth 3 time what the A65 will bring. I've seen running low time A65s go for $2500 to $3500 with a prop.

They may not be the most desirable small continental engine but those two cores are certainly worth buying(if cheap enough) and keeping from rusting. They don't make those anymore and if push comes to shove they are a low cost option for a light J-3 or cub replica.
