Folks, we will be offline in the forums for 15 minutes or around 10:30 this morning so I can update the forum software with the latest features and security patches.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

New features??
Will I be confused?
Will you offer tutorials?
Remember, most of your family is over 50.

Can you make that "View latest post" button BIGGER?
Can you entice Zane to upgrade HIS software???
Can you help me find my meds? [twitch..slobber..]

Yes
Probably
Maybe
Me Too
Possibly
There is nothing enticing about me
I took them so I could get through the upgrade.

Ok, there are some nifty new things. None of them you have to use if you don't like them or don't share in their niftyness.

The "activity stream" you can reach by clicking "What's New". It is up to date on what's going on similar to the thing on the home page, only better.

The side bar on the right has a similar listing of new stuff. You can close the side bar with the arrow thing if you hate it.

Lots of other behind the scenes stuff to make life much, much, better...

P.S. My little hacked in "New Since Last Visit" will go away as it is now rendered obsolete by the activity stream.

Unfortunately the "activity stream" screen appears when I select the forums page. Once it appears I'm forced to select the forums view from the top menu bar.

SB, I am always curious how people use the forum. Most people use the front page to launch into it, or launch from the emails they get. If you are starting at the forum home page, what would you normally do next as far as navigating to unread topics? I will check in the profile to see if there is a way to change your default behavior when the forums open up.

I did drop the sidebar off, that was stale by comparison to the activity feed.

The "New Post" button is under the "What's New" button. That is what I use. Shows me what has been posted since my last visit. The What's New" button will be nice after I have already viewed a topic and want to go back to it.
