We have weather and weather cams at Beluga and both sides of Lake Clark Pass. And don't forget Drift River, Merrill Pass low and high, and Sparrevohn. Big River Lakes is redundant. We have weather reporting and weather cams at Puntilla and Rohn and weather in Farewell and Skwentna. Hayes River is no big deal, either. I won't miss either station if they go away.

Here's instant and current weather for the entire US and it even covers those mysterious neighbors Canadia and Mexico. Very cool!

StewartB,
have you ever seen weather cameras go bad?
I remember when they were just installing the cam's in the pilot project stage of funding. All the kids in the vill, shot em out with their .22's. I think they thought that "BIG Brother was watching". The installer told me he slept in the heated power room ( maybe 4x8 ) and he could hear the crack of the .22 the first night he put them up.

The weather cams work most of the time. I can't recall the last time I gave someone a weather briefing and the weather cams were inop. They usually work very well when used in conjunction with the AWOS/ASOS at a location. I have the Weather Cam App for the iPHone4. I do not use it at work.
