Hello all. I am in need of information on a wing kit for a PA-18 that I picked up second hand after it was laying around for several years. The party I got it from had no idea about it other then they thought it was for a Piper PA-18. It is a little unusual in that at it's tallest the center ribs are about 7 and 1/2 inch with 4 square lightening holes of various dimensions throughout. The ribs are 3 piece. The leading edge ribs are about 8 and 5/8 inches long so the leading edge is a little longer than stock. It is set up for flaps. There is one piece of old copied paperwork that shows how to set 2 ribs for the tank bay and it has the name Kit Wing Company. I have 14 left and 14 right (28 total) center ribs. I have 59 nose ribs. I have 15 aileron section (some left, some right) and 21 flap section ribs( some left, some right). I have nothing to join the center to the leading and trailing edge ribs.
I am in need of information. These appear machine made and good quality. I wish to use them on my experimental project (Pa-18) and would like to find a copy of paperwork for them. I'm thinking "Riblet" but don't know for sure and even if they are which size. I can make the missing ribs but I of course am not sure of spacing etc. I have not called D&E yet since I'm not sure of the actual origin and the pictures on their site show their ribs with round holes instead of rectangles. I'll be copying this in to a couple other groups to see if anyone has any idea. I know a picture would be nice but I thought I'd try this first. Thank You in advance... dave
