Yeah - I know, strip it all the way to the fabric, glue the tapes on, and re-finish. Anybody have experience with laying tapes or patches over the top of Poly Tone (on an experimental, of course). Think they would hold?

Poly Tone is easy to lay a patch over. For small patches I just clean the area to be patched to remove dirt or wax, soak up the patch with poly brush, squegee off the excess with my fingers and lay the wet patch in place and smooth. This avoids brush tracks in the area surrounding the patch. Iron and finish the rest of the coatings as appropriate.
