My friend Tom Murphy who went west several years ago had a long career in aviation starting in the 30's. He was the Pepsi skywriter (one of them) flying a Travel Air before WWII. He always wore a tie to the airport. When I asked him why, he said "Because you never know when you'll have to take the train home."

Rich, iz'at the same Tom Murphy who lives/werks/flies in Hood River, Oregon??
(The woods must be full of Tom Murphys)

He's the main MAN @ the WAAAM Museum (Western Antique Airplane & Automobile Museum). They've just started on the 2nd (of 3 'er 4) 50,000sq.ft. buildings.

He's now making the deal on a set of EDO's fer me, from his (other) friend. :)

NOTICE:
I still have an Xtra SuperCub calendar. Anyone who wants it, make a promise to SJ. Either the most creative, (or only one) gets it, p-paid.

No, when I said he "went west" I meant it in the WWI way, not in the geographic way. The Tom I knew lived here in NY except when he was an Instructor in TX for the army during WWII.
