I don't anymore, but at one time I owned a 1947 vintage PA-11 and tried several different engine on it over the years; 0-235, 0-290 & 0-290D2. For what its worth this was an Alaska work plane...which has some differences than hangar planes. While I'm sure I don't know everything about them, I do have around 4,000 hours of practical experience in one.

The d2 was souped up and ran like a stripped-azz ape! This PA-11 was all dolled up w/ Cub flaps, tail feather, wing tanks, big tires, heavy gear, but still fairly light wtih no electric system and bare-bones inside. From experience I can honestly tell you that it would take off and land shorter than 99.9% of other -18 150/160/180hp Cubs that I've seen or compared it against.

did you have it approved or were you just testing 8) it.
Looking for someone that has one that is certified with the bigger engine.
thanks
