I just got my kit last month. Almost 9 months to get it, though I think they have it down to 6 months now.
When I talked to Mike B up in Yakima (Dakota kit), he told me about a 1000 hrs on their kit, so it should be about the same on the TCOW kit.
A couple of things to share with mine is: I got the standard trim on the side, not the over-head, so they couldn't put in the lower left baggage door due to the trim cabled being in the way. So I ended up with the two lower baggage doors on the right side, and the upper baggage on the left. After looking at it I wouldn't go with the two lower baggage doors, just the lower rear door. I also ordered the wind screen in 3/16 instead of the standard 1/8". I figured a little better bird strike protection.
I haven't ordered the wings yet, but will likely go with the standard wings w/ standard fuel. I will go with the spar doubler. Figure 6# for an extra 700# gross weight is a good trade.
I talked to Wayne the other week and he told me that the demonstrator they put together weighs in at around 1250 or so, but it has all the bells and whistles, extra fuel, leather interior, extended wings, dual lights. So that should give you an idea of what the weight might be if you want to go that way.
Other than that the kit looks good and the TCOW guys seem easy to work with and are helpful when you call.
