Poke around that second website at the rest of florida. It has some great information about small strips. I have talked to the person who has the pics on airliners, he sasys the land was recently sold to some small town politician, and whoever has been clearing it out and it was fine to land on. I can't find out who owns it but it seems it is used with out permission by quite a few people.

Im in melbourne, if you pass on by with an empty seat, give me a call, ill always contribute some dead weight.

Bear island is a great place to land, I've been there 50 times. I don't know the new owner but it's fine to land there. I lived in that area for 10 winters and know alot of places around there. The problems with landing off airport down there are soft sand and its illegal. I did it all the time, just don't get caught. Florida wants airplanes on registered airstrips, don't ask how I know.

a friend of mine landed his trike on some beach on the golf coast, turned out it was a state park. They weren't happy and tried every thing they could to give him trouble but in the end all they could get him with was a fine for not paying the park entrance fee. he bought a one year sticker for cars and has gone in ever since, some loop hole I suppose.

I think because All the law makers have boats not airplanes. Down here you can't land a float plane anywhere here in the keys without special permission and even then they'll say no way, but the Boats on the other hand can drive through the wildlife areas and tear up all the sea grass, they run them damn boats onto the living reef all day long and not one is ticketed. I even see boats get stuck in the mud, they just power up and destroy the sea grass to get unstuck. They let these idiots run rampant down here. But floatplanes to land in the water is Illegal, or to land on a secluded beach is Illegal.

Probably has more to do with the late Berry Seals an company, than law makers and there boats. Don't know if I spelled his name correctly. :-?
