Has anybody got any information on late model 182's, S and T models specifically, regarding engine problems, airframe hassles, or anything out of the ordinary. I know this is probably not the right forum but info would be appreciated thanks.

I don't have much personal experience with the new ones but I would get with Cessna Pilot's Association. I am a member and all I do is maintain a friends 1979 model. Great resource of information.

Ted:

I bought a T182T in December 2005. I have about 200 hours on it now. No engine problems at all, no airframe problems. Initially there were a few bugs with the avionics (NAV III, Garmin G1000). Actually quite a few, but Cessna stepped up and worked very hard to correct those. (I now firmly believe that you shouldn't buy a car or airplane that was built at the end of the year, right around Christmas)

There have been a number of annoying services bulletins, like at least three on the seat rails, a couple on the fuel line connections, etc., etc. Nothing big and all under warranty.

All in all a very nice airplane. I get about 145 knots on 14 gph at 10,000 feet.

Not as much fun to fly as my Super Cub, but it gets there faster.

Back window in a 182? You mean "Omni Vision"
