AOI between the J-5 and Pa-12?

Hi guys,

I am a little confused about AOI between the two. Of course the 12 was a direct of descendant of the J5c. I have a J-5A fuse that has been modified to a heavy duty 12 specs. (bought this fuse from someone else). I have been told that the J5 had the same AOI as the Cub, where the 12 is flatter. The fellows around here say the j5 might do better than the 12 in performance for this reason. Any thoughts? I have heard that they are the same too.

J-5 and PA-12 have the same fuselage dimensions.

The wing butt fittings might change the AOI, but I have not checked them yet.

Keep in mind that a J-5A (not sure about the C model) and PA-12 have different thrust angles.

The J-5A offers most everything everybody wants in the new sport cubs with the exception of the higher gross weight......
