The Artrain (http://www.artrainusa.org/communities/skykomish.wa.html)exhibit is being sponsored in Skykomish, Washington by the Town of Skykomish Saturday April 29 through Tuesday May 2. It is a travelling art exhibit housed in vintage railcars. You can read more about that HERE (http://www.artrainusa.org/about.html).
The neat thing about the exhibit coming to Skykomish is that the town is less than a mile from the Skykomish Airport (http://www.airnav.com/airport/S88) (a great little grass strip) so it has the potential to be a family style fly to event. Your better half might appreicate a short flight to see the art exhibit, have a bite of lunch and a nice walk in a quaint country town. She also might not be so huffy the next time you want to go trout fishing as a result of a trip like this. Just a thought.
Washington DOT Aviation (http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Aviation/airports/Skykomish.htm) division has some scoop on the airport as well. Unfortunately I won't be in town - otherwise I would probably fly the missus up there for the day in the hopes of garnering a kitchen pass for a fishing trip in the future.
Anyway - just a suggestion for a family type fly to event for those who are interested. Thanks to Karl whose great grass strip we get to use for pointing this event out.
