Wood Skis

Anyone have any experience flying wood skis. I found a set of wood skis and a set of aluminum skis. I can borrow the aluminum, and have the wood skis.

Virtually all skis were originally made from wood. Until a few years ago, Atlee Dodge still built straight skis from wood.

Make certain that the wood is solid, not rotten. I'd put plastic (UHMW) on the bottoms, if they don't already have it.

And, double check the upturn on the bottoms. I had a set of old Northland skis that the wood had "relaxed" on, to the point where they had virtually no rocker in the bottoms. I really didn't trust those skis much.

Other than that, they work fine, are easy to repair/replace, as long as you don't damage pedestals, and, if of appropriate size, they'll work fine.
