Heated Pitot on Experimentals

Anyone doing a heated pitot on your experimental? I have done some pricing for a Cessna style heated pitot. They can be had for around $175.

Is it worth it or just a luxury? Are frozen pitots notorious on Cubs? I did a search on the site and didn't see much about it. I will surely be doing winter flying.

If anyone has done it, I would appreciated any tips on the installation and what you did for a static source.

Better check your pricing agian. they are about $800 or higher.
If you're still interested in installing one, you can get one with an integral static line. you can also leave the static line open with a small hole somewhere under your panel.

Just got a quote from http://www.wentworthaircraft.com , $175. Used but serviceable. eBay is also good to watch.

looks like you got a deal. I was quoting new. I'm surprized wentworth is letting them go that cheap. good luck.
