View Full Version : New Holstein 2005 T-Shirt Contest
We have some clever artists out there and I would like some help this year designing the New Holstein 2005 fly in logo for the T-shirt and hats.
Here are the elements we would like to see in the design:
1. A cartoon diary cow flying a supercub with big tires (with his/her head out the door) possibly giving a thumbs up or some such.
2. The words "2005 New Holstein Super Cub Fly In " somewhere in the design and "New Holstein, Wisconsin" or "8D1" in there somewhere.
Bonus points for: Having the pavilion in the background, or coming up with something I did not think of.
I shall be the final judge and while design, etc are import, it also has to be printable on a t-shirt.
THE PRIZE:
The contest winner shall receive:
1. 2 free t-shirts of their design
2. Their name on the design
3. 2 free hats if we decide to make hats this year
4. $100 membership upgrade / extension
THANKS! Deadline for entries is May 1, 2005!

Size limitations? And colors? Most printers will only print 3 or 4...
Just curious! Giong to start sketching some things up for you!
Last year we did a 4 Color process shirt, it was OK but probably better to sitck with 4 color non-process.
We can always shrink/expand as needed.

Here is the "bellypod" version.

Ha! Glad you thought that was funny....Technically I'm an only child, but I take any opportunity possible to point out to my father that the plane is encroaching upon my only child status...Ha!
When the cub had her "facelift" we got a photo album in commemoration of the end of it all (ugh....bye bye grad school...Ha!) and we had the cover engraved around the prize winning photo of the plane saying "The Other Sibling"

Steve,
I vote for Annie's yellow cub! She really got it all together with the tires, moo-cow, et al ... suspiciously (as did Anne I) leaving off the teats.
The only competition I could see for this would be you with a set of horns on your head riding that stupid moPed thing you now call your Avatar

I'm also partial to the "Yellow Cub" . . . . but then again . . that is to be expected of a proud "Dad". Gee . . . now that she is getting older . . she is not so subtle about the other "sibling". The sibling thing came to light when she presented me with that photo alblum.
I have it on good authority that the drawing is being refined a this monment. Well . . that is if she is "up" . . you know those college kids.

So here is the deal....All New Holstein shirts from this year forward are designed by kidlets in various schools thru out the country. Each Super Cubber has one visit per year from one class per years to promote general aviation...Maybe 4th or 5th graders. They design a T-shirt it becomes a contest for best designed New Holstein T-shirt. Sell the T shirts for 20 Bucks with 5bucks going to some class for aviation something or other and one class getting credit and life goes on...This accoplishes 2 things..Gets a future generation interested in aviation from a Super Cub perspective. And 2 promotes SuperCub.org for future genertations...
Geeeeze I knew I should not have had so much Sake!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Always Sam...
I think you guys and gals kinda get the jist of what I am saying...
I think...

any news on who won?
tom ford
Sorry Tom, and everybody else! Too much going on here!
Annie the Scubber's little copilot won with her cow flying a cub design. However, I want to thank EVERYBODY who was involved and I will set up a cafepress t-shirt you can purchase (for cost) of your design if you would like.
We are PLANNING on using Dave Kirsten's Cow Cub on a cap if we can "git 'er done" in time.
Thanks again, and Congratulations Annie!

This is one time a father can be glad to hear his daughter won a "T-Shirt" contest. Congratulations Ann! Does this mean that the Christmass present "dilemna" is solved? Of course your mother will wear it to . . . church.

Thanks guys! I had a great time doing it, and yes pops, this may become the christmas theme....But you should be glad as it will no longer be the dollar store, eh?
Thanks again folks! Wish I could join you all at the fly-in, but alas, my plane is, in the garage, or something like that....Ha!
Congratulations! I can't wait to wear this year's t-shirt!
Annie, looks like you're winning the sibling rivalry thing!
Anne.
Anne (Wright) and Tom Ford, can you upload your entries to the photogallery again? They got lost in the crash!
THANKS!

Steve, I sent an e-mail to you with the picture attached. One of these days, I'll learn to post pictures...
