Anyone have any experience, thoughts, ideas related to using PA-14 cowl copy on a homebuilt cub clone? Thanks.

Which cub clone are you building? PA14,12 or 18 or J3/PA11

PA-18, 160hp, LW cooler mounted at rear.

The only thing that might fit the PA18 would be the nose bowl. Everything else is too wide and would require extensive modifications. You'd be better off to build your own top, side and bottom cowlings.

If you're talking about just the nose bowl, to get rid of the oil cooler scoop for your rear mounted oil cooler then a PA-14 nose bowl or a PA-18-135 (I think?) will get you there (no oil cooler air scoop). If I were you I would also look into the split or one piece fibergalss / kevelar nose bowls Stoddards sells. You can get them with or without an oil cooler scoop and they are light and tough. About $495.00 the last time I checked. Take care. Crash

Yep, thinking just the nose bowl. The Stoddard idea sounds good. Thank you gentlemen.
