My dad has a '94 PA 18-150 (bought new) that only had close to 250 hours when I got ahold of it 2 months ago. I'm quickly adding to that number. My question is when cubs aren't flown for long periods of time, are they more prone to oil leaks? 3 or so weeks after having had the oil changed, it was back down to just above 6 qts. I know the plane will usually settle down to around 6 or 7, but I was careless checking the oil while the engine was hot to make sure it had risen some, and burnt the heck out of my arm. I now have a nice reminder in the shape of a kiss on my arm. And please, no cracks about "women and shop talk." I'll admit I'm green, but I'm learning.
