I need a source for a center right aileron hinge bracket for a wood spar J3 Cub I am recovering. I called both Dakota Cub, and Univair, and neither one has one or makes them. There has to be a source for these. Wag Aero has them, but they are " to be used on experimental aircraft only".The Piper part number is 12992-01. If anyone can help with this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,

Mike,
I guess it's a matter of how quickly you need it. These parts ARE available around. It;s good that you asked here, but you should also ask on Barnstormers, check e-bay, ask at J3-Cub.com , and check the Yahoo groups J-3 Cub forum.
Unfortunately, Univair only carries parts for the metal spar wings, and as you found out the stuff from Wag is either not certified, or isn't the quality you really want.
Look around your local area there is, many times, SOMEONE that can help you out. As a last resort you could "make" the part yourself for your airplane (maybe someone could help you???).

Mike,
I have a new old stock right hand center hinge for a wood spar J3. It's never been on an aircraft and has the Piper number stamped on it. Email me and we'll make arrangements.
