Hi Marc,

Good luck..most cub folks I know, including myself, would also like to have a pile of original piper ribs. I don't think all the dough$ you could gather would find you "original" piper ribs.

Using Dakota or Univar would be a more realist option, the Dakota parts are very nice!

How about Cubcrafters? They must be doing something with all the old ribs if they rebuild a cub wouldn't you think?

I've seen very few unrepaired Piper ribs at this point (for awhile I thought the flat tops were original.... ).

I really recommend you go with the Dakota or Univair product. You will be very pleased you did.

That being said, I have some Piper ribs in various condition (flat tops, some repairs), so PM me if you are interested.

How do the Carlson's compare price wise? I saw them at Sun & Fun a few years ago before they were certified.

I think 60 bucks each w/paperwork about 44 bucks no paperwork I bought an entire wing kit(exp. cat.) 3500 bucks which is everything. they use the same drag bracing system as the Smith cubs. this is no alierons and a J3 wing but I cut the front spars to fit PA 18 style cabin.

Will the standard Supercub tanks fit into the Carlson (Smith Cub) wing with the drag bracing system they use?
