By a stroke of luck I found a set of (what I believe to be) Supercub Tail Feathers for my 12 project. They are in great shape and very cheap at $310 for the set of 4.
Reading the recent debate on tail feathers in different sizes, I would appreciate it if someone would take the trouble of measuring the stabilizer and elevator of a PA-18 spanwise and chordwise and tell me the dimensions.
After getting this info, I might have four very cheap tail feathers for sale....

I am rebuilding a set of Tripacer tail surfaces and went over to a friend who has a PA 18 and measured his. It's an older SC, but I came up this:
inboard (next to fuselage)to outer edge of stabilizer...50 inches
inboard (next to fuselage)to outer edge of elevator ...61 inches
across stabilizer and elevator (front to rear) at thickest point...45 inches

Thanks very much for the info. I appreciate your taking the time.
I finally got a chance to measure the tail feathers I have in the shop. Turns out they are slightly smaller, at 41" span on the stabilizer, 57" span from edge of stab to outer edge of elevator, and 45" across.

Would that make the tailfeathers I have PA20/22 items? Can these be rebuilt to the size of PA-18 tailfeathers?
