Anyone ever tied a Porta-Bote to the bottom of their Cub?... It maybe too wide... I have a 9' Zodiac inflatable and 10hp. Honda that I carried in the 185, but it's waaaay too big for the Cub... There's a 8', 10' and 12' P-Bote and they fold to 4" thick... They are kinda pricey, so I may try to copy it (that's for Diggler) :onfire: ...

Cuby:
Did you look at Atlees lumber rack for the boat?
I wrote Atlee about it quite some time ago... Never heard a word from him...

I have a 9' Zodiak with inflatable (10 psi) hard floor and a 8 hp motor that fits indside the plane. I haul boat, motor, 10' wall tent, two sleeping bags, two pads, two cots, misc gear and food, some 450 miles to hunting camp with no problem. It's amazing what you can cram into one of these little planes (PA-18). Crash

My hat's off to you... Somehow I have trouble just getting two people and a purse (and the shopping bags) in mine...

I have a 12' Porta-bote and yes they do indeed fold to 4" thick. I carry mine on the side of my motorhome (looks like a surf board!) and it also easily straps to the struts or spreaders on my Rebel- Amphib. The problem is you still need somewhere for the 3 seat boards and the transom, as well as the 2 piece oars/anchor etc. I have a full floor in the back of my Rebel, so no biggy for me, but not sure where you would put this stuff in a cub. In the motor home I store the seats/transom and two wheel dolly (that breaks down) into a 5' wide x 2' deep x 1' high compartment.
Greatest boat in the world though. Rides quiet in the water, doesn't pound the waves like an aluminum boat and is more stable in the water as well. Also is much quieter for Walleye fishing than an alum boat, making it harder to spook the fish when you drag a foot or drop something.
Cheers,
Wayne

Cuby...I'm heading out in the Motorhome tomorrow. If by chance my daughters allow me to go somewhere in the next week that I can make use of my boat I will take some digital pics before/after etc of what all is involved in it's 10 minute assembly into a floating item and send them to you when I return.

Just back tonight from a week in New York State and it rained every Friggin day :bad-words: , but I did get the boat together, photographed and some fishing in from it.
Cuby send me your personal direct email address and I'll send you some downsized pics .... UNLESS OTHERS ARE INTERESTED.... and in that case I will post them to the archives here.
