So, is there another name for these thingys? The only thing I can find is "cessna 172-#2 lion stud". Sounds vaguely dirty doesn't it?

Look on this page of the Wicks catalog under cowl mounts http://www.wicksaircraft.com/gotopage.php?page=107 they are the same as a camloc fastener.

Univair have them under Pn`s 85-11-140-16 & 85-11-180-16 and the recepticle 85-35-295-15

I got a complete FWF kit of stainless steel Lion fasteners from Cub Crafters.

I have never seen Camloc fasteners used on rag wing Pipers.
