Any one have any tales or stories of labrador or Quebec? Home to 10 plus lbs brook trout, 20 lb arctic char, atlantic salmon, caribou etc. Little hard dealing with can. rules and regs. I.E. guides required. But very wild and remote area . Also can be lot of bad weather and winds but great fishing and hunting . We have been up there 3 times and had great fun but expensive when you hire guides etc to meet can. regs. Spent 2 weeks flying a turbo 206 up there last summer and caught lots of big trout. Saw a few cubs around and in Goose Bay and Lab City. Fuel is expensive and sometimes hard to get. Weather can be very windy and lows just sit over area. This was some of Lee Wulff's cub flying area. He wrote a great book about Newfoundland and Labrador.

Hey BushMaster!
Just saw your post regarding Labrador... (Can't believe I missed it before).
I was planning to fly my Cub up to NewFoundland/Labrador is past summer but tires got into my funds. I'm thinking about doing it this coming summer.
I did the Alaska trip one year ago and probably won't make it for '03. It seems no-one heads north-east. Looking at the charts I see why.
Given the distances, I suspect that I go it alone and haul fuel.
Are you interested in making a trip this this coming summer?? It would be nice to have some company.
Cheers

Rick,
Contact: Jacques Laberge and he can give you pointers about flying to Labrador. He's got a 160 hp Cub and does a LOT of guiding in the area.

Hi! If anyone does decide to make the trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, please feel free to drop me a line before hand, if you need anything, I would be more than happy to help where I can. I have access to an OUTSTANDING AME, and if you make it by my place, my family and I would be glad to fill you up on traditional grub and local brew. At least then my wife will see I'm not the only one with Cub-itis.
BTW, the hunting and fishing stories are all true...
Cheers all!

Hey Guys. Leaving for Newfoundland Sept, 30 for a Moose hunt with3 other guys, but we must drive this time to carry gear and meat. The rules were changed 2 weeks ago. You can bring back hunter harvested game, but must fill out a special permit and only cross at certain ports of entry.. Hey Wannabe Driver, we are going to River of Ponds, then flying inland. Where are you located?
