Horizontal Stabilizer Pivot and Through-Tube Corrosion

I am going through my annual and found the aft horz. stab "through tube" rusty and seizing.

Finally got the things apart and am replacing both the aft and forward tubes.

I'm using a quick coat "LPS Anti-Corrosive" liguid in the stab and then grease in the stab (for the aft tube) and oil at the pivot fitting (forgotten the name of this item). Obviously the trim through tube has a zerk fitting to lube it.

Anyone have a tried and true method to ensure this area remains corrosion-free???

Cheers!

A grease fitting boss can be welded on the rear through tube fitting instead of the oil hole. This is quite common, I do it on all my rebuilds, but it's tough to do the welding with the fabric still on. I assemble the tubes with a good coat of grease. If you don't have a grease zerk added to the rear tube, always make sure to thoroughly lube this area. If it siezes, every time you move the trim, you are bending the stabs.
