Brake Rotors

I'm about ready to do my yearly condition inspection, and I know I need new brake pads. The rotors are worn a little, and have small ridges. I really didn't want to spend the money for new ones. What's anyones though about turning down the rotors. Or should I just bite the bullet and buy new ones. :-?

I've turned quite a few sets if they're not worn to badly........extends brake pad life. Some guys also shim the calipers .
