Corrosion under the fabric

A friend ground looped :x his Super Cub out at Tucumcari, New Mexico the other day. Got the rear spar and the aileron but didn't hurt the fuselage. I drilled the aileron apart to replace the spar and a couple of the leading edges. When I got to the inboard aileron hinge I found the spar was paper thin. Dissimilar metal corrosion between the aluminum spar and the steel aileron hinge fitting. The others were fine and this one looked fine until I drilled it off. I have rebuilt many ailerons and flaps and have never seen corrosion this bad. Clyde Smith told me that Piper used the dope out of the bottom of the vats to prime the steel. I have been powder coating these parts when I rebuild them but it is a job to get them apart to inspect and paint. Has anyone else run across this. I am posting a pic so ya'll can see what it looks like.
